Mentor Spotlight

Adam’s career spans roles on “both sides of the table” in deploying corporate venture capital as well as operational roles to include business development and enterprise sales at various organizations. Adam joined USAA as Senior Associate of Corporate Development and more recently, as Director of Business Development & Innovation. Adam also co-founded Alpine Therapy Services in 2018 and currently serves on the Board as a Director. He also supports an early-stage fintech & Techstars Alumnus, Curu, as a Member of the Advisory Board. Prior to USAA, Adam was a Corporate Strategy Manager where he led $95 million in M&A transactions, direct sales distribution planning, and post-merger integration. Preceding his position with Centurylink, Adam served as a business development & financial strategy lead for the Boeing Company. Adam led several mergers/acquisitions targeting projects, IP valuation, and agile process initiatives. Prior to his work in the private sector, Adam served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer Officer with accomplishments ranging from the completion of US Army Ranger School to being honored with a Bronze Star Medal during OIF deployment.
Adam earned an MBA from the University of Denver and a financial management certificate from Cornell University. Adam serves as a mentor to several startup accelerators, including Techstars and PatriotBootCamp. Adam is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending his free time cycling, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.
Newchip Quick Tip: Investor List
Create a list of potential or prospective investors even when you aren’t actively raising a round of financing. Keep them updated with a monthly or quarterly newsletter explaining your progress and traction. This will help keep your company in their mind and will prime them in case you ever go to raise another round and want their investment.
